Julio Marquez has 25+ years of experience in cross-border principal investments and M&A, having previously worked at institutions such as Global Emerging Markets Group (Managing Director and Head for Latin America), Violy Byorum & Partners (Director and Head of Analytics — Latin America), Wasserstein Perella (Vice President-International), Citibank (Latin America Private Banking) and Morgan Stanley (Analyst).  He has developed particular expertise in structuring foreign investments in the USA and Latin America, in industries as diverse as media/telecom, manufacturing, retailing, energy, oil & gas, pharmaceutical and steel. Julio’s functional areas of expertise include M&A advisory, corporate finance and valuation in emerging markets; he has completed transactions in practically every Latin American country.

Julio holds an MBA from Harvard Business School (1990), a master’s degree with honors in systems engineering from the University of Pennsylvania (1985) and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1984).   He holds FINRA licenses Series 7, 24, 27, 63, 82 and 99.  He was born and raised in Mexico City and is a dual US-Mexico citizen.

Julio is an Adjunct Professor at the New York School of Investment Banking (formerly New York School of Finance), where he teaches Valuation and Case Studies in American Finance. He also serves as a Director of Wyndham Global Partners’ Mexico Fund.
