Jon is a leading international expert in alternative investments. He is the founder and Managing Director of Adelaide Alternative Asset Management. Jon is an adjunct faculty at the University of Toronto, and has taught courses including, introduction to alternative investments, hedge funds and broker-dealers, options, futures and other derivatives, corporate finance and the philosophy of finance. He is a Chartered Investment Manager and was a Managing Director of an alternative investment firm, focused on liquid alternatives. Jon is a qualified lawyer in Canada and England, a member of the New York State Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He sits on the investment committee of a public endowment and pension, and is a member of a working group on financial stability and systemic risk at the Federal Reserve.
Jon was Vice-President and Counsel for Citigroup in London, U.K. during the Global Financial Crisis, and has advised leading asset managers and banks globally. Jon holds an MBA from Oxford University and a law degree from Queen’s University, and fintech certificate from MIT. Jon is currently completing a book for the American Bar Association Press entitled “U.S. and International Alternative Investment Funds” and is the author of “When Prime Brokers Fail” published by Bloomberg Press.
